Rumor: Radeon graphics cards could get pricier again

AMD has reportedly raised the price of the GDDR6 memory it sells to card makers by 10%. AMD hasn’t confirmed anything.

This is a rumor, so take it with caution. According to Board Channels, a forum frequented by graphics card makers, AMD has been charging its partners about 10% more since October 1 for the GDDR6 memory it supplies along with its Radeon chips. AMD hasn’t confirmed anything.

If the report is accurate, the Radeon RX 9000 series would be hit hardest, and the increase would take some time to reach store shelves. It would come on top of increases already reported this year, amid an ongoing memory shortage.

For now, the only thing up 10% is the rumor.
