Deliver a client’s cargo from point A to point B: no capital to invest, just loading and flying.

Hauling contracts are ideal to get started: the cargo belongs to the client, you buy nothing and get paid on delivery. You load crates with a tractor beam or the freight elevator, fly, and unload.

The higher your hauling reputation, the bigger and better-paid the contracts. Multi-stop contracts pay more but need some organisation in the hold.

🔑 Requirements

  • A ship with a cargo hold
  • A multitool or ship tractor beam to load
  • No capital: the cargo is provided
  • Reputation unlocks bigger contracts

🚀 Recommended ships

🧰 Recommended equipment

  • Multitool with a tractor head
  • A cargo ship sized for the contracts
  • A full quantum tank
  • Healing in case of a fall

🧭 Steps

  1. Take a contract : In the mobiGlas Hauling tab, pick a contract that fits your hold.
  2. Collect the cargo : Go to the pickup and call the cargo to the freight elevator.
  3. Load : With the tractor beam, stack crates in the hold starting at the back. Group them by destination.
  4. Deliver : Fly to each destination and drop the crates in the freight elevator.
  5. Complete : The contract completes once all cargo is delivered; pay and reputation follow.

💡 Advanced tips

  • Group several contracts leaving from the same place
  • Stack crates in delivery order
  • Magnetic cargo grids keep cargo from sliding
  • Prefer same-planet contracts at first
  • A teammate on the tractor halves loading time

⚠️ Common mistakes

  • Accepting a contract bigger than the hold
  • Taking off with loose crates
  • Leaving a crate in the elevator
  • Landing hard and damaging cargo

☠️ Risks

  • Damaged or lost crates: penalty
  • Pirates on busy routes
  • Crowded freight elevator or delivery bug
  • Loading takes longer than planned

💰 Profitability

Fair and with no financial risk: you lose no money if the ship is destroyed, only the contract and time.

❓ FAQ

Do I need money to start?
No: the client provides the cargo, which is the big difference with trading.

Why are some contracts greyed out?
They need a higher hauling reputation or a bigger hold.

Can we haul as two?
Yes: share the contract; a pilot and a loader go much faster.

What if I lose a crate?
The contract is reduced or fails depending on how much is lost.
