Cyberpunk TCG: the Holophone turns tournaments into a Night City serial

WeirdCo has unveiled the Holophone, a narrative layer for the Cyberpunk TCG card game. An app lets you live a story through text messages, and the plot moves forward at the pace of in-store tournaments.

The studio behind Cyberpunk TCG, developed with CD PROJEKT RED, made the Holophone official on 7 October. It is a web and mobile app. You pick a faction (Arasaka, the Aldecaldos or Maelstrom), then you exchange messages with characters, accept missions and make decisions that matter for what comes next.

The game-changer: these missions are tied to the results of Organized Play events. Weekly Brawl players also earn rewards when they lose. For once, getting flattened at your local store moves something forward.

The Holophone is still in Alpha. A first playable “Main Job” demo is planned during the Welcome to Night City prereleases and throughout November, subject to change. The first set releases on 6 November 2026. More content will follow, with monthly in-store scenarios and more ambitious events at the Edgerunner Open Regionals.
