The last two iROSA arrays are on their way to the ISS

A Dragon cargo ship is carrying the last pair of iROSA solar arrays to the ISS, completing the station’s power upgrade ahead of its deorbit.

On 13 October, a Falcon 9 lifted off from Cape Canaveral with a Dragon cargo ship carrying 2.8 tonnes of equipment, including the last pair of iROSA solar arrays. Docking with the Harmony module was scheduled for Thursday 15 October.

These arrays unroll like a carpet and will be installed during spacewalks this autumn. They complete the station’s power upgrade, which will serve research, operations and the future controlled deorbit of the ISS.

So we are renovating the roof of a house due for demolition in 2030, partly so that it can be demolished cleanly.
