🌍 A planet that had it all

Aremis, the second planet of the Vega system, is a lush world circled by rings. A former military base during the Vanduul push that followed the fall of Orion, it was enjoying a real economic and cultural boom. It was even expected to overtake its neighbour, Selene (Vega III), in population within a decade.

💥 The attack

On 5 October 2945, a massive Vanduul attack strikes the planet and cripples its infrastructure. New Corvo, the bay city nicknamed “the gateway to Aremis”, is almost entirely destroyed.

⚔️ The consequences

• The attack pushes the Empire to call for war against the Vanduul: the start of the Vanduul War.
• Aid and rebuilding pour in, from charities and from companies who see a business opportunity.
• The Vega system has lived under threat ever since: its early-warning systems sometimes lock it down when Vanduul clans roam the neighbouring Virgil system.

🎬 This troubled period, the war against the Vanduul, is the backdrop for Squadron 42, Star Citizen’s single-player campaign.
