Star Citizen planet: ArcCorp (Stanton III), the city world

A whole planet turned into a city. ArcCorp is described as “the single most industrialised world in human space”. Its surface was sculpted, divided into lots and built over in about 80 years, leaving very little room for nature.

📜 Its history

When the Empire sold Stanton, the ArcCorp company bought the third planet. Unlike the other owners, it didn’t keep the planet to itself: it split it into small lots, leased to other companies. The result: one continuous city, factories as far as the eye can see, and an economy that makes Area18 one of the region’s great commercial ports.

A fun detail: for public tours, ArcCorp built a fake, sanitised factory, complete with holograms and animatronics. It has since become part of the local culture.

🌙 Its two moons

Lyria: an icy moon with active cryogeysers and cryovolcanoes.
Wala: a low-density moon that tidal forces have stretched noticeably.

🎮 In game

Area18 is one of the game’s starting points, at the foot of ArcCorp Tower and the Circle C commercial district.
The five Lagrange points (ARC-L1 to L5) host stations, some with a Rest Stop.
Easter egg: Area17 only exists as a map marker, with nothing to do there.
