Illustration: Star Citizen planet: Crusader (Stanton II), the cloud giant

Here, people live in the sky. Crusader is a low-mass gas giant whose atmosphere becomes breathable at altitude. Crusader Industries took over old floating platforms there and turned them into giant shipyards, and the city of Orison floats among the clouds.

📜 Its history

Crusader Industries was founded in 2799 by August Dunlow. Its name sums up its ambition: building ships, and standing up for a certain idea of morality. When Stanton was sold to corporations, it took over the planet’s floating platforms and expanded them to build its ships. Orison offers a breathtaking view of these shipyards.

🌙 Its three moons

They are named after the three children in the tale A Gift for Baba.

  • Cellin: over a hundred dormant volcanoes. Security Post Kareah stands there.
  • Daymar: the largest of the three. It holds the wreck of Covalex Hub Gundo (see our story) and the Jumptown lab.
  • Yela: a water-ice crust. Its asteroid belt hides GrimHEX, the Nine Tails’ den.

🎮 In game

  • Orison is one of the game’s starting points: shuttles link its platforms, perched above volumetric clouds.
  • Other sites float in the clouds: Cloudrest Retreat, Empyrean Park, Prospect Point.
  • Since Alpha 4.10.0, the co-op mission Siege of Orison asks you to free the platforms occupied by Mendo Ren’s Nine Tails.
  • Crusader stayed out of reach for a long time: the planet only opened its clouds with Alpha 3.14.
