Illustration: Star Citizen planet: Pyro I, the furnace

Welcome to hell. Pyro I orbits so close to its star that it’s constantly bombarded by its flares. Its charred black rock is slowly being swallowed by the star itself.

☀️ The Pyro system in brief. A “flare” star that can change brightness within minutes and sweep the system with radiation. The Pyrotechnic Amalgamated company mined it from 2493 to 2563, then abandoned everything. Gangs moved into its deserted stations: today in Pyro, whoever has the most guns makes the law. Open to players since Alpha 4.0.0 (December 2024).

📍 Places to know

  • Gray Gardens Depot: a settlement.
  • Rustville: a ship salvage yard.
  • Stag’s Rut: a mining site.
  • Lazarus Phoenix and Tithonus: research labs, with six transport hubs.
  • At the Lagrange points: old abandoned Pyrotechnic Amalgamated stations and the Akiro Cluster.

🎮 In game

  • Distortion storms can disable a ship: without good shields, navigation is tough.
  • Surveys rate it as sparsely populated and barely profitable: people mostly come for its labs and missions.
