Your ship blew up? Don’t panic: insurance gives it back. You just need to know how it works, and what isn’t covered.

Filing a claim

  1. Go to an ASOP terminal (fleet manager) in any spaceport.
  2. Select the destroyed (or lost) ship and file the claim.
  3. A timer starts: when it ends, the ship is delivered and you can retrieve it as usual.
  • Since Alpha 4.10, the wait depends on the ship’s value: a small fighter comes back fast, a big ship takes longer.
  • Repeated claims no longer get more and more expensive.

Expediting

  • You can pay to speed up delivery. The cost depends on the ship, and it’s capped.
  • Useful when your friends are waiting; pointless if you have something else to do during the timer.

What isn’t covered

  • Cargo: lost with the ship.
  • Personal gear stored aboard (weapons, armor, items): lost as well.
  • Components you bought and fitted: before heading out, check at the ASOP which loadout will be restored if you file a claim. Since Alpha 4.10, weapons count toward the claim cost.

Lifetime insurance (LTI) and durations

  • Ships bought on the website come with insurance for a set period, sometimes for life (LTI) on older packages or certain offers.
  • LTI only covers the hull and stock equipment, not modifications or cargo.
  • During the Alpha, insurance duration has little day-to-day impact: you can claim your ships normally.

💡 Beacon tip: store your ship at the ASOP when you’re done playing instead of leaving it on a moon: it’s safe, and you won’t need to file a claim next session.
