Star Citizen has no character levels: you progress through reputation. The more an organization trusts you, the harder (and better-paid) the missions it gives you.

How it works

  • Each employer (hauling companies, security, guilds, factions) has its own reputation ladder.
  • Completing contracts raises your reputation; failing or abandoning them lowers it.
  • You can check your reputation in the mobiGlas Reputation app.

Unlocking high-level missions

  • The best-paying contracts (high-level bounties, big hauling jobs, defense missions) only show up from a certain rank.
  • Focus on two or three employers rather than spreading yourself thin: you’ll rank up faster.
  • Some story missions unlock whole series of contracts: for example Recco Battaglia’s missions in Levski, added in Alpha 4.10.

Pyro’s factions

  • Pyro is controlled by factions and gangs (Citizens for Prosperity, Headhunters, Rough & Ready…). Your reputation with them decides who welcomes you… and who shoots at you.
  • Working for one faction can close doors with a rival one: pick your side knowingly.

Security reputation

  • Your behavior also matters to the authorities. A CrimeStat makes security forces hostile and can lock you out of legal contracts.
  • Stay “clean” if you’re aiming for legal careers (bounty hunting, security, hauling).

💡 Beacon tip: abandoning a contract in progress costs reputation. Read the objectives carefully before accepting, especially if the mission is far away.
