Star Citizen ship: RSI Polaris, corvette

The Polaris is a nimble corvette that packs a punch: turrets, torpedoes, a small craft hangar and quarters for a crew of twelve.

📜 Its history

The Polaris was fast-tracked after the 2945 Vanduul attack on Vega: the request for proposal called for a smaller, first-response alternative to Idris-class frigates. RSI won thanks to its fully equipped hangar and torpedo tubes. Under the Militia Mobilization Initiative (2946), it was opened to civilians to protect contested regions, while also serving as a Navy patrol ship. It is named after Commander Hester Polaris, a hero of the Tevarin War, and military Polaris ships are traditionally named after heroes (such as the UEES Reilly).
