It all starts with one man and an obsession. In the 23rd century, humanity is already colonising its own solar system, but the stars remain out of reach. Until Nick Croshaw.

🧭 Ten years in the Neso Triangle

A pilot, astrophysicist and explorer, Croshaw spends nearly ten years studying a strange region of the solar system: the Neso Triangle. He’s convinced something is hiding there. He’s right: a jump point, a kind of natural tunnel to another star system.

🚀 The big jump

Croshaw becomes the first human to travel through a jump point and come back to tell the tale. On 10 April 2271, he announces his discovery: a new system, which will bear his name, Croshaw.

🌍 What it changed

  • Without knowing it, he invents a profession: the navjumper, the pilots who go looking for new jump points.
  • His discovery opens the Human Colonial Expansion era: within a few centuries, humanity spreads across dozens of systems.
  • The Empire still celebrates First Jump Day every year in his honour.

🎮 In the game: every time you travel from Stanton to Pyro or Nyx through a jump point, you’re retracing Croshaw’s journey, a little more comfortably. For the how-to, reread guide #24 on navigation and jumps.
