Three systems are playable today: Stanton, Pyro and Nyx. Reading the map, plotting a route and crossing a jump point are the foundation of every career.

The star map

  • Open it with F2 (or from the mobiGlas). Zoom into a planet, a moon or a station, then select your destination.
  • Plot the route: the game works out the jumps needed and the quantum fuel required. If a celestial body is in the way, the route goes through waypoints.
  • Orbital markers (OMs) around planets and Lagrange points (with their stations) make handy waypoints.

Quantum travel

  1. Enter quantum mode (B) and aim at the destination (HUD marker or plotted route).
  2. Wait until the quantum drive is spooled and aligned, then start the jump (long press).
  3. During the trip you can’t steer the ship. The jump can be interrupted by an obstacle… or by a pirate with an interdiction ship.

Jumping between systems

  • Systems are linked by jump points: Stanton–Pyro, Pyro–Nyx, and a temporary Stanton–Nyx link.
  • Travel to the jump point, line up with its opening, then enter the tunnel. Inside, stay in the center: touching the walls damages your ship.
  • Each jump point has a size: the biggest ships can’t go everywhere (the Pyro–Nyx jump is medium-sized).
  • Fill up on quantum fuel before you jump: on the other side, the first station may be far away.

The three systems at a glance

  • Stanton: the “civilized” system, with its four big cities, stations and security. Ideal to start with.
  • Pyro: a lawless system, dangerous but full of opportunities.
  • Nyx: partly added in Alpha 4.4, with Levski and the Keeger Belt stations. Its planets are coming gradually.

💡 Beacon tip: before a long trip, check your hydrogen and quantum fuel, and pack food and drink: hunger and thirst exist in space too.
