Orbital map of the Cano system

Discovered in 2463, Cano has four planets. Most of its people live on Carteyna, an ocean world that was being terraformed… until life was found in its depths. Since then the law has protected it, and residents live in arcologies under the northern ice cap.

🪐 Its worlds, from the star outwards

Cano I (mesoplanet)

A tidally locked mesoplanet on a fast orbit around the star.

Cano II · Carteyna (ocean planet)

Centuries of terraforming couldn’t convert its thick atmosphere. Everything stopped when microscopic organisms were found deep in the water: settlements are now strictly regulated to protect this developing life.

Cano III (smog planet)

A smog planet with a small research station studying how to terraform such worlds.
👥 inhabited

Cano IV · Pox (gas giant)

Nicknamed Pox: a red and brown banded gas giant swept by storms over a thousand kilometres wide.

☄️ Belts, clusters and stations

  • Cano Belt Alpha (asteroid belt): A belt heavily mined back when terraforming companies were active on Carteyna.
