Orbital map of the Davien system

Davien is famous as the site of humanity’s first encounter with an alien species. After first contact with the Banu in 2438, it took only a few months to sign the first interstellar peace treaty. Traders and businesses flocked to Cestulus, then interest faded as larger jump points were found elsewhere.

🪐 Its worlds, from the star outwards

Davien I (rocky planet)

A small coreless planet with no mineable resources.

Davien II · Cestulus (rocky planet)

Cestulus is terraformed, but its thin atmosphere means most people live under biodomes. Trade with the Banu has waned, but the planet stays busy and hosts Aegis Dynamics’ headquarters.
👥 inhabited

Its moon:

  • Penselin (Davien 2a): Penselin, named after local physicist Daniel Penselin, whose work on quantum drive efficiency transformed long-distance travel.

Davien III (smog planet)

Its highly acidic atmosphere makes it unsuitable for most ships.

Davien IV (ice giant)

An uninhabited ice giant near the Cathcart jump point. In orbit: the Banu Friendship Museum, commemorating the first meeting.
