Orbital map of the Charon system

Discovered late in the 25th century, this remote system housed the Messers’ most notorious prisons. When records of their atrocities were declassified, the Charon III council renounced its UEE recognition, a unique case. The planet has been torn apart by rival factions ever since.

🪐 Its worlds, from the star outwards

Charon I (rocky planet)

A small rocky planet a collision is thought to have pushed towards its star, which is slowly consuming it.

Charon II (smog planet)

Its thick carbon monoxide atmosphere makes the surface so hot that every terraforming attempt has failed.

Its moons:

  • Charon 2a: A small moon with an atmosphere, but too unstable to terraform because of constant seismic activity.
  • Charon 2b: A dead rock covered in craters and ancient caves.

Charon III (rocky planet)

Terraformed by the dawn of the 26th century, it is home to the Phiyi Tower, a Supermodernist masterpiece. It is now locked in a civil war between the states of Dellin and Acheron.
👥 inhabited

Its moon:

  • Touvoni/Aiya (Charon 3a): Depending on who you ask, this moon is called Aiya or Touvoni: even its name is disputed.

Charon IV (ice giant)

A methane and ammonia ice giant beyond the Gedinasho Belt. It inspired the system’s name.

Charon V (dwarf planet)

A dwarf planet on the system’s fringe: nothing has ever justified landing there.

☄️ Belts, clusters and stations

  • Gedinasho Belt (asteroid belt): The Gedinasho Belt, named after a popular 25th-century vid character.
