Healing yourself, reviving a friend, or making rescue your career: medicine is everywhere in Star Citizen. Here’s what you need to know.

Injuries

  • Damage hits six areas: head, torso, arms and legs. There’s no single health bar.
  • Injuries come in three severity tiers. A hurt leg slows you down, a hurt arm makes your aim shake.
  • A big hit at once: instant death. Otherwise you go down (incapacitated) and a countdown starts.

Medical pens

  • Hemozal (MedPen): heals, stops bleeding and revives an incapacitated player. Always carry several.
  • Other pens treat specific symptoms: pain, concussion, vision, radiation…
  • Watch out for overdoses: too many shots in a row, and you’re the one going down.

Medical beds and respawn

  • Beds treat injuries up to their tier: a tier 1 bed treats everything, a tier 3 bed only minor injuries.
  • A medical bed also lets you register your imprint: that’s where you respawn after dying.
  • Beds aboard ships use MedGel. Hospitals and clinics don’t.

Making rescue your career

  • An incapacitated player can send a rescue beacon: it becomes a contract you can accept.
  • Medical ships such as the Cutlass Red, the Apollo or the Terrapin Medic carry a medical bed, so you can heal and respawn your team on site.
  • Handheld medical tools (ParaMed, LifeGuard) give longer-lasting treatment than a simple pen.
  • A good rescuer arrives fast, secures the area… and doesn’t get killed on arrival.

💡 Beacon tip: as a group, bring a ship with a medical bed and register your imprints there: if anyone dies, they respawn aboard, right next to the action.
