Crafting arrived in Alpha 4.7: you can now make weapons, armor and other items yourself. What you make depends on the quality of the materials, so miners and salvagers finally have a prime customer… you.

The three ingredients

  • A blueprint: it describes the item and the materials it needs. Blueprints aren’t sold in shops: you earn them as contract rewards.
  • Materials: mostly refined ores that you mine, salvage or buy.
  • A fabricator: the machine that builds the item. It’s sold in some shops and, like other bulky items, retrieved through the freight elevator.

Making an item

  1. Bring out your fabricator and pick a blueprint.
  2. Assign the materials, one by one, or with the buttons that auto-fill with your best or your lowest-quality materials.
  3. Check the predicted stats: material quality changes the item’s performance (recoil, damage, protection…).
  4. Choose the delivery location and start fabrication. The item is ready when the timer ends.

Finding blueprints

  • Some contracts guarantee a blueprint as a reward. The Siege of Orison and Recco Battaglia’s contracts (Levski) give them since Alpha 4.10.
  • Community tools list which contract gives which blueprint, and what reputation it requires.
  • Wikelo’s exchanges now give armor and weapon blueprints that you craft later.

Getting started

  • Start with simple items you already have the materials for.
  • Keep your best-quality ores for the items that really matter (your main weapon, your armor).
  • Crafting goes hand in hand with mining: you control the whole chain, from rock to finished item.

💡 Beacon tip: crafting is still young and changes with every patch (blueprints, materials, recipes). Check the patch notes before starting a big production run.
