Star Citizen ship: Aegis Idris-M, frigate

The Idris-M is Aegis’s military frigate. Larger than a bomber but smaller than a ship of the line, a frigate lacks a cruiser’s heavy armour and capital weapons, but is more manoeuvrable and highly configurable.

📜 Its history

In 2545, after the First Tevarin War, the UPE Weapons Development Bureau specified an 85-metre corvette able to dock two patrol fighters. Aegis got the contract without a tender… and the prototype that began trials in 2549 was something else entirely: a far more massive frigate, mounting an enormous railgun and carrying a fully functional flight deck for fighters and bombers.
