The world of Dune is preparing to return to the big screen. Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have confirmed that Dune: Part Three will be released in North America on December 18, 2026, with international screenings beginning on December 16.
Once again directed by Denis Villeneuve, the film takes place nearly twenty years after Paul Atreides seized power. Now Emperor, he must confront the consequences of his rule as new threats emerge and old alliances begin to unravel.
Timothée Chalamet returns alongside Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson and Javier Bardem. Robert Pattinson also joins the cast, while Hans Zimmer returns to compose the film’s soundtrack.
Drawing primarily from Frank Herbert’s novel Dune Messiah, this third chapter is expected to explore the political and human consequences of Paul Atreides’ rise to power.
Following two films praised for their visual ambition and direction, Denis Villeneuve now faces the challenge of bringing one of modern science fiction cinema’s most ambitious sagas to its conclusion.
