📜 Its history
Drake Interplanetary was founded in 2845 by Jan Dredge after the Cutlass lost the UEE’s “volksfighter” tender. The name “Drake” belongs to no one: it was chosen because it sounded good. Based on Borea, in the struggling Magnus system, Drake became the Empire’s fifth largest builder within five years. Its rugged, geometric, cheap ships target militias… and openly appeal to pirates, to the point that the company has been accused of complacency: according to the press, the Cutlass Black makes up two thirds of the ships used by known pirate groups.
