The symptom: the game freezes or sends you back to the menu with error 30000. It’s the most famous error in Star Citizen.

Why: the server crashed or your connection timed out. A new server then starts and recovers the state of the world.

Surviving a 30k: close, wait, then pick Retrieve and never Claim at the ASOP terminal

✅ The right reflexes

🟡 If the game freezes and announces a server recovery, don’t quit. Let the recovery finish: you’ll often pick up where you left off.
🟡 If you’re kicked back to the menu: close the game and the launcher, wait about 10 minutes, then log back in.
🟢 At the ASOP terminal, pick RETRIEVE, never CLAIM. Claim files an insurance claim: you get a brand-new, empty ship (cargo and equipment lost). If only Claim shows up, close the game, wait 5 to 10 minutes and check again.

🔁 If 30k errors keep coming back 🟢

If it started after logging out or crashing in a ship or a ship bed, run a Character Repair.
Check the minimum specs, especially the SSD (see crashes and performance).
Flush the DNS cache or change DNS server, and turn off your VPN.
Delete the USER folder, then run a Verify.
Don’t quit the game during the tutorial.
